COST CA2204 Working Group Meeting Participation

Assist. Prof. Mustafa ŞENOL from Istanbul Gelişim University participated in the BEiNG-WISE Management Board and Working Group Meeting held in Skopje, North Macedonia, on June 24-25, 2024. Hosted by Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, the event brought together academic and research experts to discuss the behavioral aspects of next-generation wireless networks.

The working group sessions focused on key topics, including:

WG1: Innovations in wireless communication technologies and their impact on security.
WG2: Methods and strategies for integrating secure wireless systems.
WG4: The influence of human factors on cybersecurity.
This meeting provided a significant platform for fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and developing innovative solutions for the future of wireless networks.

Successful Student Final Project Presentations

On June 26, 2024, students successfully presented their final projects, showcasing the knowledge and skills they had gained throughout their education. The presentations highlighted students' analytical thinking, problem-solving, and innovative approaches, making the event a crucial milestone in their academic journey.

The projects were meticulously prepared with detailed studies and comprehensive analyses. The evaluation process was conducted by a panel of expert academics, including Prof. Dr. Abdulsamet HAŞILOĞLU, Assist. Prof. Mustafa ŞENOL, and Assist. Prof. Zeinab HASSANZADE, who provided feedback and assessed the students’ achievements.

During the presentations, students explained the technical foundations, proposed solutions, and implementation processes of their projects in detail, answering questions from the jury and demonstrating their academic and professional competencies.

COST Net4Brains Event Participation

Prof. Dr. Abdulsamet HAŞILOĞLU from Istanbul Gelişim University attended the COST Net4Brains event in Slovenia on September 4-6, 2024. He presented his research on the use of Generative AI technologies for diagnosing and classifying brain cancer.

The study aimed to improve the speed and accuracy of tumor diagnosis using deep learning models such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) on a comprehensive dataset that included MRI, CT, and genomic data. This innovative approach seeks to enhance diagnostic processes and develop personalized treatment plans, particularly for rare tumor types, by enabling data augmentation.

The Net4Brains event served as a vital platform for bringing together experts from diverse disciplines to present innovative solutions in neuroscience and artificial intelligence.
